I woke up this morning at 3:49 a.m. because my stomach was grumbling. So.annoying. I'm generally an insomniac anyway. (I should see a doctor about this but I don't want to be handed sleeping pills). I was stuffed to the gills last night when I went to bed but I guess my dinner didn't cut it. 1,349 calories doesn't cut it anymore regardless of how full I feel. Tonight I'm eating .25 grapenuts and coconut milk before I go to sleep so this doesn't happen again. I should do this on run days, anyway.
First run with my Garmin. It was hot and when I hit four laps and it didn't say a mile but .80 I though, "Great." This whole time I thought a mile was four laps and it's five. So, I've not been running near as far as I thought and apparently I'm a lot slower. I should have known I wasn't running a 10 minute mile for a duration of 4 miles. I had intended to run 35 minutes but I was just too bummed. I had to force myself to do two more laps and I was definitely dragging.

400 m is the "regulation" lap on a track, which means 4 laps = 1600 m or .999 miles. However, what I just learned by googling is that not all tracks are made to regulation. Perhaps if this one is gravel or you are running on the narrowest portion that makes a difference too. Too bad this has been such a nuisance to figure out.
