Saturday:
I almost didn't getting my run in because it was cold and rainy. But I was itching to get out and beat my previous 5 mile run. Last Saturday it took me 64 minutes and I stopped to walk twice. I wanted to run 5 miles without stopping and come in under an hour. I did! 5 miles in 59:20. Last Saturday my first 3 miles were at 12-min pace and the last two at 13-min pace. I'm not going to go nuts every time I run and always post my splits but these were notable:
Mile 1- 11:51
Mile 2- 12:04
Mile 3- 12:19
Mile 4- 12:18
Mile 5- 11:04!
That last mile I realized I might be able to get in under an hour so I booked it! The next time I run 5 I might concentrate on getting all my miles under 12 and then I think I'll be sufficiently accomplished for awhile. ;-)
Sadly my Saturday ended a lot worse than it started. Without going into much detail my feller's job (his boss, really) is testing him and he may be without one. We've been waiting on things to go better on the job front for him, a switch, to another job in another county so we could move a little more forward in our relationship and feel more secure, but it's going rough. I went to bed in tears and he left on edge. NOT a good day.
I ate around 2,000 calories, which is more than I intended. I didn't overdo it, nor did I eat through what I burned but I ate more than I would have liked.
Sunday:
I had intended to do laundry but given the previous nights' events I couldn't stomach sitting at the laundromat watching my clothes dry. Even though it was 45* and drizzling rain I decided I needed to get out. Although I could have run I just wanted to walk. I ditched my mp3 player and just took my Garmin and my cell phone. I ended up walking 4.25 miles for almost an hour and a half. It definitely helped me release some tension. I looked at flowers and between buildings and under bridges (I crossed three in my walk) and just zoned out a little.
Again, food was close to 2,000 calories plus there was two glasses of rose involved. I'm not good on the weekends with my food. What I ate was healthy but you can always overdo even healthy food. A lot of salt was consumed.
A stressful weekend that I am glad is over, but this week is going to shape up to be not lovely.
Nicely done with those 5 miles.
