Day 537 - Dear Hip

You and I have had a rough past few weeks. I know it's my fault. In an attempt to make amends and get you to heal faster, I promise these things:

-I promise the next time you start hurting, I'll stop running that very minute.
-I promise I'll never push through the pain and run a 23 mile week again.
-I promise to take slow days, no matter how much my speed is improving.
-I promise to ice you.
-I promise to stretch you.
-I promise not to do hill repeats as fast as I can .on.every.single.run.
-I promise to vary my route more and run on a trail once a week.
-I promise to get properly fitted for shoes.
-I promise not to take ibuprofen to ignore the pain just so I can run 8 miles.
-I promise I won't do a standing desk anymore with my hip jutted out to the side.
-I promise to follow training plans exactly from now on. No more tacking on an extra mile. 
-I promise to cross train more.
-I promise I won't run on back-to-back days anymore.


Just please, please get better. I love to run. I miss flying on the sidewalk. I have such a hole in life right now. All I want to do is run.
